The newest projects done!

It's not that I don't like to knit anymore, but work as been unbelievably busy!

I did finish up a few projects.

I did another pair of socks, I will post a picture of those when I am done with the lot!

I had another friend have a birthday and she had asked for a blanket.  She said her favorite colors were purple and pink, but no pastel crap!  Here is what I did for her:

I know, it turned out really pretty didn't it?!

I also finished up a Christmas gift.  It is a wrap-around scarf.  You can hardly tell, but there is like a pocket that one end fits through.  It was incredibly hard and took me a little longer than I had thought it would.   It had sequins!!  Gotta love sequins!

Also, in the interim, I did a small baby blanket for one of my daughter's friends who had a little baby boy.  It turned out rather nice.

I am wondering if I will ever get all those socks done.  When I have the time, it does not take long for me to crank out a pair, like a weekend maybe, but I just have had more work time than play time.  :-(

I was holding that first pair of socks I did the other day; I wonder if people who receive knitted gifts truly know of the love that goes into them.  It made me a little sappy and I had tears, but when I looked at and held those socks, I thought of the person they were made for and I thought about how much I love that person and what they mean to me.   I thought about what my life would be without them in my life and it just made me hold onto the socks tighter and pull them into my chest and hold them close to my heart.  I hope when everyone that has a pair of socks coming get them, they hold them for a brief minute and feel my heart beating in them.  I hope they can feel the love that I poured into them.  I know, they are just socks...but, I think they may mean more to me than I care to admit.  It has nothing to do with the labor, really, it just has to do with you and how much I love you.  The blanket or the socks or the scarf that I have knitted you was a true act of love.  Wrap yourself in your blanket and think of me pulling you in for a hug.  Because I love you, that much.

I am sorry...kinda having a moment.

Two new projects....DONE!!

Hey, hey, hey....

Okay...finished up two throws this weekend. The first one was my sons which I started back in May when he was here. I know, I know. I got carried away with the sockies and finishing the Giants scarves. But his is done and done!

Garrick's did not photograph very well. The first picture is probably the best. It shows the deep colors in it. He choose a black and a dark blue and a dark purple and then a little color running through it. It was actually very beautiful.

The other one is for a wedding on Saturday....

This one is actually very deep and rich. There is a gray and a light cream color with a variegated colored yarn and then a bronzy color. It turned out very good. I am very impressed --- with myself!

Got another pair of sockies done and started on yet another pair. Probably going to start my nephews blanket in a couple of weeks and I have a very special friend with a birthday in November and she is sooooo gonna get a throw and perhaps, if she keeps the snarkiness to a minimal level, I might get her in a pair of socks as well!

I hope these are not dumb gifts...if they are, you all will tell me, right? I think they are fantastic and I love, love, love putting such a "handmade with love" touch on these gifts. If you have gotten something I have made...I love you.

New sock...

I am having a love/hate relationship with my new sock... I loved the yarn so much when I bought it but I am on the fence about whether or not I like the sock or not. I think I might, but then I think I don't.

What do you think?

I did finish one pair last week for my mom they are purple...I will post a picture of all the socks when I am done with them. I am just not too sure about the color of the new sock. I was going to give them to my Aunt Barbara, but I think I may have to keep them. I don't know. I will do the other one this weekend and then decide, I guess.

Still working on Garrick's blanket, I think I will be done pretty soon. I need a break from the socks, so I will finish that. I have another wedding this month...deciding if I should do a blanket for them. I thought it was a pretty good gift for a wedding, but I don't want people to think I am like...stupid or something! LOL.

I can't help it...I love knitting. I love the accomplishment of finishing something. Something that you can wear or use. I like knowing that every single stitch was done with pure love. I knit because I love it...you get my knitting because I love you.

A new blog

Stayed tuned for my knitting projects here. I am only a beginner and so I go slow and I go on a fairly easy pattern. I enjoy it, though. I started last year around Christmas time. So far, I have knitted myself a scarf, my Uncle Bobby a scarf, My son a scarf, my daughter and husband a "Giant" themed scarf, a blanket for you, a blanket for Natalie, a blanket for Courty Court, a blanket for Michelly, and two pairs of socks! My current projects are finishing my son's blanket, finishing this other blanket that I am not sure who the recipient is gonna be, and sockies for the fam fam for Christmas. I also need to start my nephews blanket. There is also a wrap I want to do for myself before it gets cold. It sounds like a lot, doesn't it....

I better get started.
