Latest Projects

I have been busy, busy, busy knitting away.  I even got a little blister on my finger :-( .  But all is good!!  I love knitting and giving my things to friends and family.

First of all, my nephew, JJ, had a birthday and he requested new socks because the ones from last year were too small.  So I made him BIG BOY (size 12?!?) socks.  Hopefully he wont be outgrowing these soon!

Yeah, I know!  Big!!!

Then my daughter from another mother, Holly, texted and wanted a navy blue scarf.

Ask and you shall receive!!

Then Holly's mom, Julie, had a birthday and I knitted her a great pair of fingerless gloves!

I think she liked them.   But I LOVED them...so I made me a pair!!!

And finally ---- whew!!!!!! ---- My niece had a daughter, my grand niece (YAY!!), Eve Lynn, so I knitted her a little bunny.

I know!  I told you I was busy!

For the next projects, I am doing my favorite guy a little something and my children will be getting another pair of sockies for Christmas!  I am also doing Natalie a pair of the gloves that matches the scarf SHE made all by herself.  The nut falls not far from the tree!!!

I also have this pair of beaded fingerless gloves...but, they are not something that I am sure I can do just yet.  My friend, Ronda, is helping me out with those; maybe there will be a picture of those the next time.  Maybe not!

I've Been Busy....KNITTING!

I have been rather busy knitting away.  I thought I should probably post the pictures before I started on my next project.  I am not sure what the next project is...hmmmmm, looks like pattern browsing in my future!

So, here is a blanket, hat, and booties that I did for one of really good friends grandson.  The hat and booties were done in time, but the blanket was a couple of weeks too late.

 Cute, Huh?

I started a throw for my house about a year ago (!) but my family thought it looked "army" so I never finished it.  But I needed, for myself, to finish all of my unfinished projects, so I finished the army throw.  If nothing else, it's warm!
Army?  Maybe.

Last year for Christmas I made my whole family sockies (10 pair)!  It was quite an accomplishment.  I ended up with some yarn leftover from the socks and I had decided to make my mom a scarf with everyone's sock yarn.  It is not beautiful, but it is a little sentimental.

I just mailed it to her, I'll let you all know what she thought about it.

Lastly (I told you I have been busy!) I tried my hand at stuffed animals.  I made an elephant for my daughter and a hippo for my son.  I was very pleased with the way they turned out and frankly I am a bit proud of this accomplishment!

That's all for today!

I am awaiting some special needles in the mail (I could not find the right size locally) for some beaded (Yes! another new adventure) fingerless gloves.  I am excited about that.  My nephew wants another pair of socks that I will get some yarn for.  My friend, Holly, wants a scarf which I will also find some yarn for.  My old friend, Sundae, asked if I could do a turtle, so I will look around for a pattern for that.  Lots of knitting, so little time.

Happy Knitting!

The newest

I know it looks like I have not been knitting at all, but this is not true...I have just not been blogging!!

This year, so far, I have knitted a baby hat with matching booties and I am currently working in the blanket for that.  I will post pictures when they are finished.  The shower is August 11, I don't think I will be done, but the fabulous pregnant girl will understand.  She is not due until September, so, I KNOW I will have it done by then!

I also did a throw for a friend of mine's daughter (who I kinda love like my own daughter!).  She recently texted me and asked for a scarf!  I love repeat business!  I will start and finish her scarf before the harsh Rexburg winter sets in!

I am in the middle of doing a scarf for my mom.  I am using all the sock yarn from the family's socks that I did for Christmas last year and making her a scarf.  This is a car project!  I have it in the car because it is one of those mindless knitting projects that I can do whilst I drive -- well, actually Trenty is driving, but we actually really know who is driving; he may be behind the wheel, but I am the driver!!!  I will have that done by the harsh Farmington winter!!

I am working on a throw for myself...it has been put on hold indefinitely!

So, for the finished products that I do have pictures of!!  My niece is expecting my great niece (the first one on my side of the family).  I was going to do booties, hat, and blanket but my mother instructed me that SHE was doing the blanket.  I guess EveLynn just needs one blanket...but whatever.  I decided to try my hand at a sweater...a hoodie to be more exact.   I have made sockies and scarves, but a hoodie?  I was unsure if I could pull it off.  I bought a pattern complete with video help (verypink.com) and thought I would try my best.  I was on a time table.  My niece was in Farmington for 2 weeks and in the middle of that she was having a shower.  I had to find out what she was having first...then knit something...then get it mailed!  Whew!!  Well, I am very happy to say, that I did it!  Here are a few pictures:

This was done right after I knitted the front and back panels, added the heart, and attached the shoulders...

Same time....

The hood...oh my gosh, I never thought I was going to get that!!!

The sleeve.  Which I actually thought was going to be hardest part.  It was hard, but it ended up knitting up fairly quickly...once I counted!!

And....TA DAH!!!  The finished hoodie!

I had extra yarn, so I added booties as well!

I know, I know...what a terrific great aunt I am!  I worked on it from Saturday morning until Sunday night for the hoodie.  The booties took me one night a piece.  So...I had it all ready to mail, in time, for my niece.

I will post more pictures when I complete everything.  Got a lot of projects sitting waiting to be finished and some I can't hardly wait to start!  I have to prioritize!

Happy knitting!

The newest things....

I finished all of my sockies!!!!

The bare foot is mine and then clockwise it goes....Trenty, Shelly, Vernon, Audrey, Natalie, Luis, Garrick, Nana, and then Jeremy!!  I was a couple of days late, but Natalie, who got the last sock, was very understanding.  I think everyone liked them...I hope so any way!  If you got a sockie from me, you are one of the most important people in my life!

I did a blanket for Alyssa.  I think it turned out beautifully.  At last report, she loves it and uses it!!

I made me a cowl shawl.  It is very warm and works great!

So...what am I knitting now you ask?!?!  I am actually doing me a pair of sockies to wear around the house.  Then I have another cowl shawl I hope to finish in the next few weeks.  I would also like to make me a throw....Do y'all see a theme here....ME!!!  I am going to make my mom a scarf using all of the leftover yarn from everyone socks, that should be interesting!  I also think I am going to try my hand at a sweater.  It has a drop sleeve instead of sewing so I think I might be able to do it!  Then...I know,  I know.... I would like to do a baby sweater, blanket, and hat set.  Just to see if I can.

I did make a resolution to always have a knitting project and a book ready for my quiet nights alone.  I have goals set on what and how many things I want to accomplish in this area; I will let you know in 12 months whether or not it was accomplished or not.

Happiest Knitting....
