I was very busy knitting for Christmas last year. I knitted more socks and gloves and headbands! But, I forgot to take pictures. Just trust me...they were fabulous!
I also did three ruffle scarfs. I did not enjoy this project at all. A 2-hour project took days and days just because I could not get myself to pick up and knit. I am sure with the crotchet technique of this pattern, it is much better than with the knitting. But when trying to knit these ruffle scarfs, the stitches would come off the needles and it was very hard to see where your stitch went and then because of the turning of the work back and forth, the unknitted yarn was such a twisted mess. I had to stop and spend more time in untwisting than in knitting! These turned out beautifully, but not something I enjoyed too much.
The two projects sitting in my bag are a shawl and a potato chip scarf. I will eventually get to these and finish them. Also, I have yarn for a little bunny that I need to knit that I will start soon. Oh...but first, I am making black and orange fingerless gloves to wear to the game to match my new scarf.
However, it is my latest project that I wish to brag a bit about...I tried a new technique called "Entrelac Knitting." Oh my gosh, what an experience! At first I was thinking that if I ripped it out a dozen times that I would be doing good. In fact, I ripped out nothing. I made an infinity neck warmer in just a few days with this new technique and I think it turned out beautiful. I am so going to make a few more things with this technique, I loved it so! During this course, I learned how to knit backwards (this is actually knitting onto the left needle from the right) to avoid having to turn my work and always working on the right side. This was a fabulous new thing to learn, I hope to implement it a lot in future projects!

Thanks to my beautiful daughter for modeling for me! As you can see this is knitted both to the right and to the left, but never straight up! It was so interesting and I was sure after the first two tiers that I was messing up, but it all turned out just perfect in the end. I have a pattern for a cape in this technique that I think I will definitely be making.
