First off -- My friend, Michelle, is a big Red Sox fan. I know, I know... the Giants are the best team ever, but she insists on rooting for the wrong team on the wrong coast. I was making her a pair of regular socks for her birthday and then a few weeks ago she mentioned that she would like a pair of Red Sox socks. So, I made these for her:
The second project, which was actually the first project, was a great little costume for my great niece, Evie. My sister (in-law), Shelly, sent me a text a few weeks ago with a cute little picture of a little girl in a mermaid costume and she wanted to know if I could make it. I am not sure if she was completely, 100% serious or not, but I took on the challenge! I had to buy a pattern there was not one available for free :-( but it was worth it. Natalie wants one for her daughter -- whenever THAT may be! I love, love, love this little costume almost as much as I love my great niece, but not quite.
That's all for today. Working, still, on a wonderful entrelac blanket for my front room. I cannot wait to finish this. I also have a couple of unfinished projects that will need to be finished soon so I can clear out my knitting bag and add new things! I really have no idea what to knit next.....hmmmmmm....I looks like someone needs to go a pattern huntin'! Christmas really is just around the corner!
XOXO
Happy knitting!!!

Soooo cute! Dumb question for you, but do you knit your socks from the toe-up? I've been wanting to try socks, but I've been a little skeert!
ReplyDeleteCute! I'm the queen of UFO's. Knitting and quilting. Got to get my act together on both. I like small projects that I know I'll get done, so I knit dishcloths while riding in the truck. Cotton yarn is nice to work with, and they make nice little gifts. I also like to make them a few rows longer than the pattern calls for. It finishes up the ball of yarn, and then they're long enough to use as placemats in the breakfast room or travel trailer or as trivets. They're not quite dense enough to be potholders, but they do make good hot pads underneath things.
